About
In the year 2014, Jamie decided to start a bagpiper-for-hire business and called himself "The Autistic Piper" so people can hire his services as a bagpiper as well as spread awareness of Autism Spectrum Disorder.
The idea initially came around to use this strictly for advertising.
However, Jamie later decided that he would also post about what he's up to in the world of bagpiping and pipe bands.
As The Autistic Piper - Jamie Brownlie progressed in the years,
Jamie decided to start promoting more and make his services more known to his community, South Lanarkshire and abroad. Jamie has been a professional bagpiper for many years and even known that
traditional tunes are a speciality, with all sorts of musical
tastes and styles he can accommodate.
Jamie has been playing the bagpipes since 2012 and now currently receives tuition from the National Piping Centre to develop his playing ability in various areas of bagpiping.
Jamie has played for various pipe bands such as
Lanark and District Pipe Band (Grade 3B) and
the Glasgow Police Pipe Band (Grade 1).
Jamie is currently a member of Coalburn I.O.R. Pipe Band (Grade 3A)
